Lockwood Parish Council has a number of noticeboards across the parish to help keep residents informed of council business. We have now updated all the noticeboards with details of Parish Council meetings and contact details for your local Parish Councillors.

The noticeboards will be updated on a weekly basis to display Agenda's for Full Parish Council Meetings and Allotment sub-committee meetings. Where space allows the minutes of those meetings will also be posted. The information will also be available here on the website.

The noticeboards are located at the following locations:-

Boosbeck           Behind the bus stop by the Old Methodist Chapel

Lingdale             Entrance to the Playing Field Allotments

Lingdale             Village Hall

Stanghow           Village Hall

Moorsholm           Next to the bus stop in the centre of the village

Charltons            Next to the bus stop

Margrove Park      Just off the main road behind the bus stop.

Are there any other locations in the Parish that would like a noticeboard? What about Aysdalegate, Kiltonthorpe, Little Moorsholm and Slapewath? Do the residents of these hamlets feel that they would like a Parish Council noticeboard? E-mail us at This email address is being protected from spambots. A new noticeboard was recently installed in Boosbeck to keep local residents informed of council business and local events.

The 2m by 0.9m noticeboard which is situated behind the bus stop near the Old Methodist Chapel in the High Street was constructed and installed by Hankills Forge & Engineering Services of Moorsholm. The Lockwood Parish Council logo has also been incorporated into the design.

It is hoped to introduce further noticeboards in other villages in the parish in the near future.

Pictured below are Boosbeck Councillors Clive Maidens, Kath Jackson and Jean Maidens next to the new noticeboard.

Lingdale was featured on the BBC local news on Monday 21st July. Popular weatherman Paul Mooney spent the day filming in the village with the result being a short feature designed to celebrate 50 years of Northumbria in Bloom. Lingdale was put forward to the BBC for the feature by officials from Northumbria in Bloom as recognition of the tremendous success the village has had in the competition in recent years.
