Lockwood Parish Council have arranged a Lingdale litter pick as part of the national 'Clean for the Queen' event. In the run up to the Queen's 90th birthday on 21st April, UK litter charities have come together to promote and inspire a million people to take action and enjoy a few hours to try to address the issue of litter in our communities.
Our litter pick will take place in conjunction with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council's 'Bring Out Your Dross' day which is taking place in Lingdale on Monday 29th February 2016 from 8.30am until 1.00pm. This provides residents with the opportunity to clear out rubbish from their houses and gardens with bulky waste items being collected free of charge.
Anyone wishing to take part in the Parish Council litter pick are asked to meet at the Parish Council office on Davison Street at 9.00am where bags and litter picks will be provided. We will be targeting the same streets as the BOYD day (click here for a list of street names).
Refreshments will be provided after the event at the Parish Council office.
This is a great opportunity to clean up the village. Residents in the named streets are asked to place unwanted items either at the curb side, ensuring that you do not obstruct the highway/footpath, at the end of any alleys to the rear of your property, ensuring that you do not obstruct the highway/footpath or on any grass areas.
Asbestos, demolition or building materials will not be collected.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council recently launched a major consultation on tough new powers to clamp down on irresponsible dog walkers.
Please click here for more information about the consultation.
The Council wants to know your views on proposed changes to dog control powers, particularly on the introduction of new dog control offences, placing controls on the use of public spaces by dogs and dog walkers, by making a public space protection order. The Council's aim by proposing these powers is to considerably increase the risks for dog walkers who think it is acceptable not to pick up after their animal.
Please click here to access the Redcar & Cleveland current consultation web page where you will be able to access details about the consultation including consultation documents and also complete the online questionnaire.
Lockwood Parish Council's own campaign to reduce dog fouling has seen the introduction of dog glove dispenser bins at 9 different locations across the Parish over the last 18 months.
A vacancy has arisen on Lockwood Parish Council for the position of Parish Councillor for the Boosbeck Ward. Expressions of interest are to be posted or e-mailed to the Parish Clerk by noon on Friday 5th February 2016. This deadline has now been extended until noon on Thursday 10th March.
