Dog fouling is a constant problem across the area, particularly in our play parks where children will be playing and on our footpaths. Lockwood Parish Council is determined to reduce this unpleasant and potentially harmful problem and so has recently purchased a number of Dog Glove Bins to assist with the battle against dog fouling in the Parish.
Initially five dog glove bins have been installed as an experiment to see how much impact they have on the surrounding area. The idea is that if a dog walker has forgotten to pick up their poo bags they will now be able to take a bag from the dispenser rather than have to leave the dog faeces on the floor. The dispenser bins have been located near to an existing dog waste bin in the following locations:-
Boosbeck - On the first lamp post on the left as you enter the Pit Yard play area from Queen Street.
Charltons - On the old road leading up out of the village opposite the existing dog waste bin.
Lingdale - There are now two dispenser bins in Lingdale, one at either end of the village. One is at Moorcock Row on the lane opposite Bellwood Avenue and the other (which was supplied by the local Neighbourhood Action Partnership) is near the bus stop by the entrance to the playing field.
Margrove Park - On a lamp post near the Village Hall.
Moorsholm - Guisborough Road at the entrance to the cricket field.
Two additional dispenser bins have now been installed, one in Moorsholm on Old Green Lane, near to Grange Farm and one in Lingdale at the top end of the football field near the footpath to Sandringham Road/Windsor Drive.
Please remember there is a Fixed Penalty Notice charge in Redcar & Cleveland for dog fouling. The penalty is an £80 fine or £60 if paid within 10 days.
There is no excuse for not picking up after your dog if there is a dog glove dispenser nearby. Please help us to keep our Lockwood Parish free of dog faeces by using the dog waste bins and bags provided.
